산벗마을은 교수들의 별장 스물한채가 모여있는 내설악 마을이다. 산벗마을 초입, 세번째 대지에 계획된 작은 주택은 스위스에서 열리는 슐로스 닥스툴 Schloss Dagstuhl 이라는 소규모 컴퓨터공학 학술회의 전통을 계승해 세미나룸과 주말주택을 겸한다.
The village of Sanbeot is a picturesque enclave nestled within the heart of Nae-Seorak, boasting a collection of twenty-one chalets owned by esteemed professors. At the entrance of Sanbeot Village, strategically positioned on the third plot, lies a meticulously planned residence that pays homage to the venerable tradition of Schloss Dagstuhl, a renowned academic conference center in Germany. Aptly named "Schloss Dagstuhl," this petite abode seamlessly integrates a seminar room with a weekend retreat.

세미나룸이자 거실인 중앙홀은 남북 방향으로 시원하게 열린 입면으로 설악의 능선과 계곡의 수림을 내다본다. 중앙홀을 중심으로 경사 위쪽엔 주방과 머드룸이, 경사 아래쪽엔 침실과 서재가 배치되어 설악산의 시간과 계절을 내부로 초대한다.
The central hall, serving as both seminar space and living area, unfolds majestically in a north-south orientation, offering panoramic vistas of the ridges of Seorak and the verdant valleys below. Designed to immerse its inhabitants in the natural splendor of Seoraksan, the dwelling is thoughtfully organized around the central hall. Ascending the slope, one finds the kitchen and mudroom, while descending leads to the bedroom and study, effectively encapsulating the passage of time and seasons within the embrace of its walls.
