Lee Kyeong Jae Architecture Projects (lkjap) is a practice-based research unit affiliated with the College of Architecture at Myongji University (CAMU), working primarily at the scale of public and institutional buildings—transit, institution, healthcare, and neighborhood facilities—where architecture must reconcile heavy technical demands with the everyday rhythms of the people who live in it.
The unit carries out design commissions and research as a mutual operation: built work sets the questions, and research answers them in terms that transcend beyond any one project.
Lee Kyeong Jae (AIA/KIRA) is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at CAMU and Principal of award-winning architecture practice lkjap established in 2016. He holds an M.Arch from the Yale School of Architecture and a B.S. in Architecture from Seoul National University, and is a registered architect in S. Korea(KIRA) and the United States (AIA, NCARB). Spanning over 17 years of practice, he has worked with prominent firms across nations including Iroje Architects & Planners, Samoo Architects & Engineers, Gensler, Huff+Gooden Architects, DTZ Korea and Kushman Wakefield. His belief in collective intelligence led to teach design studios for eight consecutive years at Hongik and Seoul National University, given the honor of receiving Tai Soo Kim Architecture Fellowship for teaching excellence in 2020.
Currently ongoing collaborations with Seoul National University Hospital Medical Imaging & Informatics Lab reflect his vast interests in public and institutional architecture meeting emerging technology: healthcare environments and the medical metaverse, digital fabrication, AI-assisted design, and the future of urban public space. He has served as a Public Architect for the Seoul Metropolitan Government SPBC during 2019-2026 and sits on Seoul Institute of Registered Architects’ Research Committee since 2024.
